Marta Nunes da Costa is currently a Researcher at Centro de Estudos Humanísticos, Universidade do Minho.

 

Ph.D. in Political Science by the New School for Social Research, with a Dissertation entitled Redefining Individuality - Reflections on Kant, Adorno and Foucault, she has a strong philosophical background, earning a M.A. in Philosophy (also at the New School) and completing her undergraduate studies in Philosophy at Faculdade de Letras, Universidade de Lisboa. 

 

Currently Marta Nunes da Costa develops a research project entitled Redefining Democracy for the XXI Century, financed by FCT, of which this website is a reflection.

Marta Nunes da Costa é investigadora no Centro de Estudos Humanísticos, Universidade do Minho. É doutorada em Ciências Políticas pela New School for Social Research (2005) com uma tese entitulada Redefining Individuality - Reflections on Kant, Adorno and Foucault , tendo um background essencialmente filosófico, quer com a licenciatura que completou na Faculdade de Letras, Universidade de Lisboa, quer com o Mestrado em Filosofia, também este realizado na New School for Social Research.

 

Actualmente desenvolve um projecto de investigação, na área de teoria e filosofia política, entitulado Redefining Democracy for the XXI Century, financiado pela FCT, do qual este website é o reflexo.

2006/9 – Post-Doctoral Research in Philosophy/Political Science, associated with the New School for Social Research (NY) and Universidade de Lisboa.

January 2006 –Ph.D. in Political Science by the New School for Social Research, New York. Dissertation entitled Redefining Individuality.  Members of the Committee: David Plotke (Chair), Agnes Heller, James Miller and Jay Bernstein.

December 2001 - M.A. in Philosophy by the New School for Social Research, New York, with maximum classification (A). Thesis entitled Moral Autonomy and Political Freedom in Kant. Members of the Committee: Agnes Heller and Richard Bernstein.

1995-1999 - Degree in Philosophy, by the Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Letras, with magna cum laude.
